The weather yesterday was just insane. Perfectly sunny all day and then right when we sat down for a pre-engagement shoot cocktail, the thunder set in. It didn’t scare me though, I usually prefer stormy skies to perfectly blue ones and this summer storm gave us some pretty incredible light that I could never duplicate in the studio.

The best part? We got to include their daughter, Bella, in some of their photos! I’ll start with Bella first because she was SO well behaved for me.


A favorite. It was raining, I was hunched over my camera, Bella wasn’t sure what the heck was going on. Good times.

So sweet.

While in Sequim this weekend, we were at a rental house on the water, it was so beautiful.

Harley (3 months!) + Jada (7 years?) just happened to be the doggies right next door. As the sun was setting, I couldn’t resist pulling my camera out for a few shots of the kids.

Sweet Harley. I love the super long shadows that the sunset cast here. I even decided to include myself! Well, I was forced to because puppy wasn’t going to sit still for longer than 1 second.


Here are some of the views from the house. I believe that is Mount Baker and to the left is heading out to the Straight of Juan de Fuca.

Prepping this hilarious shot of Nelson’s beautiful mug for a 20 x 30 canvas. I talked his Mom into taking a risk and going with this shot. I don’t think she is going to be disappointed.

Venus + Brodie welcomed me with open arms the day of our shoot (and lots of kisses too!). I absolutely adored my time with this family. Bulldogs are such a treat to capture!

Venus is definitely not short in the personality department. It actually took her awhile to warm up to the camera, but once she did, it was game on!



Brodie is definitely a Mama’s boy. Their bond came through beautifully in the images.




I think this might be my very favorite shot. So happy and surrounded by her kids.
