Maggie Kristine Vey was born 2 weeks early on August 15 at 8:51 am.

8 lbs 4 oz : 21 1/4 inches : Perfect in every way

I’ll be on Maternity Leave the rest of the year enjoying our little miracle.

We’re kind of obsessed with her :)

Household products make for fun egg decorating :) Baby Eggie is made from the following:

- Nest: Cutie Orange Peel
- Feathers: Pulled from our couch
- Beak: A little piece of rubber we use to hang pictures
- Eyeballs: Navy beans
- Hair: Rice
- Body: Hard Boiled Egg

State of the Union

For those that follow me on facebook or twitter, you already know the news but I thought that I owed at least some kind of explanation to my general blog audience for my extended absence.

For the last few months I have been so sick and extremely tired…but for a very exciting reason!

Gracie is going to be a big sister! Miss G is still warming up to the idea of not being an only child but I think she’ll be just fine. She’s getting lots of extra loves, treats, and walks until August.

This is their first sibling shot together…aren’t they cute?

Various projects lately have required that I send in or post an image of myself so I figured at 33 I better get some good shots in before everything goes to hell.

I hired the always fabulous Michelle Moore to do some updated headshots. The equally fabulous Jenny Bowker did my makeup. The combination of Michelle and Jenny is magical.

Michelle is now traveling up and down the West Coast regularly and is great fun to work with. If you don’t have a headshot or need an updated one give her a jingle!

I think when Michelle asked me what I was looking for, the only thing I said was “Please no serious shots!” because I am so not a serious person.

I kind of feel naked doing this but whatever, it is way overdue.

I was preparing this image for my sister to print extra big and I thought it would make a perfect Friday post.

I took this shot in August when it was warm and sunny and we were drowning in watermelon. If I recall correctly in this shot I took his piece and dangled it over his head.

We never call him by his real name. He is going to grow up thinking he has the same name as a vegetable! We love our little Pea, he is so funny.

We’re also having some fun over on the Facebook Wall today. Everyone is posting pictures of their dogs, come join us!

On the Mend

I wanted to pop in here and let everyone know that I am, indeed, still alive. If you’ve been following me on Twitter or Facebook, you’ll already know that I had surgery last Wednesday and the recovery was a lot more brutal than I thought. But I’m happy to say that I’m finally on the mend and anxious to pick up my camera again.

Gracie is also fully recovered from her teeth cleaning/lump removal surgery a few weeks ago. Funny, she never once licked the 16 stitches in her leg but we could not get the girl to stop licking the spot where her IV was. Here she is obsessing over it.

This little man gets to go to work with his Mom every day to the hair salon.

He helped the girls get ready for the wedding on Saturday and might have gotten some bites of sandwich in the process!

(He also cheats when asked to sit.)

Love was definitely in the air on Saturday and lucky for me so was some incredible weather and light. Chris + Jessica’s wedding was magical and I was so happy to capture that magic for them.

We are so glad to have you as part of our crazy family Chris :)

Although I am very jealous, you guys have earned your 2 weeks in Mexico.

At the end of the night I ended up in this fantastic tunnel of sparklers. Because I only had 90 seconds to catch them coming down the path I was just randomly shooting things in the dark. I laughed so hard when Happy Sparkler Dude showed up in my viewfinder. He seriously makes me laugh every time I look at it.

I went back to my roots this week and did a shoot for my friend of her 2 kids. I’ve shot them off and on throughout their life but hadn’t seen them in awhile. They grew on me!

We found a big pile of bark and rocked the silhouette shots.
