Neighbors

[OUT OF OFFICE REMINDER]

While in Sequim this weekend, we were at a rental house on the water, it was so beautiful.

Harley (3 months!) + Jada (7 years?) just happened to be the doggies right next door. As the sun was setting, I couldn’t resist pulling my camera out for a few shots of the kids.

Sweet Harley. I love the super long shadows that the sunset cast here. I even decided to include myself! Well, I was forced to because puppy wasn’t going to sit still for longer than 1 second.

Here are some of the views from the house. I believe that is Mount Baker and to the left is heading out to the Straight of Juan de Fuca.

Jada

We met in the country.
On the road.
Her name was Jada.
I took her portrait.
For free.
Because I would do this for free.
If I could.
It’s good for the soul.

Out of the Office

Just a little note to mention that I will be out of the office Friday July 4th to Sunday July 12th.

I am really hoping to completely unplug to allow the creative side of my brain to rest for a bit. Sometimes it gets going and then I drive my husband crazy.

I will still have limited access to email, but I will only be checking it once a day.

If you have any business that needs to be completed or you want to schedule a session, please do so by Thursday afternoon. Most weekends are booked into August but I still have plenty of weekday afternoons available. My favorite time to shoot because it cools down a bit and there is nothing like the light here in the evening during the summer. Gorgeous!

Ferry at F/1.4

While on the ferry a few days ago, I decided to do a small personal project.

I walked around the ferry with my 50 1.4 and forced myself to stay at an aperture of 1.4 (Manually, of course).

It was a really fun project. All these happened in just 15 minutes. Here’s what I saw.

Evening

Last night Little Sophie came for a visit so I brought out the camera, set it on my lap, and shot a few frames every now and then.

Little Sophie is due for a new collar (hint hint Melissa!)

Miss Gracie told me she thinks she looks a bit slimmer in the sunset light.

This shot is not in focus or that great but I love it because Gracie’s big mug is resting on the couch and you can really see the size difference.
(Although I’m fairly confident that Sophie believes with every bone in her body that she is the larger dog … and so does Gracie!)

I adore this shot. It’s a little peek into what is normally going on in our backyard. Husband chillaxing and Gracie on regular guard duty.

Guard duty got a little too noisy. Oooooo Gracer’s you’re in trouuubbbllleee. She got yelled at by Daddy.

Just a baby. No one can stay mad at the Peanut for long. She won’t let you. She will nose your face until you tell her everything is all good. Kisses for Gracie.
