Meet Erin Vey

I am a dog lover first.

A photographer second.

By some random chance of fate, I was able to combine the two loves into the coolest job ever: A Dog Photographer

I grew up in a family where dogs were always an integral part of our lives and most importantly, members of the family. Most of my childhood was spent with various Basset Hounds of the lovable but extremely stubborn variety. We never had less than 2 at any given time, sometimes 3, and the occasional stray that one of us would bring home for a visit.

After a short stint doing portrait work, which I still love, I realized my true calling is capturing the essence and personality of dogs. Upon reflection, I feel that my time doing portrait work was not wasted. Because of it, my experience with portrait work flows beautifully into working with people and their dogs.

My husband and I are owned by the fabulous Miss Gracie, a 5 year old Great Dane who brings energy and life into our house. You’ll see her around here a lot, she loves having her portrait taken (at least I like to think so).  She is a complete Diva and if you stick around long enough, you'll know what I'm talking about!

What an amazing adventure this has been so far. I’m so glad you are here experiencing it with me.

The Girl, The Dress, The Dog, The Road

After we finished our trailer park shoot, I wanted to do one more concept. I was actually hesitant to hit the road with the girl, the dress, and the dog because I had already done it before, but the green dress was just begging to be paired with the yellow line in the road, so I broke my own internal rule and went back.

Besides, my little country road and I have a special relationship.

This is my favorite image from the shoot so I thought I would show it in both versions because they each take on a really different feel.

Rachel - The colors are so diverse and yet they work together. Great shots.

Lori - That country road and that backdrop are perfect contrasts to these lovely models!

Erin - Isn't she great? I believe there is a fashion model hiding inside each of us :)

Jill - Love these! The model is so beautiful!

noelle - your rds are so much prettier then mine. i have a shot of a friend of mine and her dog in the rd, but the rd just doesn't do the concept justice, i saw these and was instantly like THAT is what i wanted to do! but i live in Maine, we don't have landscapes like that, its mostly trees around these parts ;)

Jen - I love the very last one. That's the real life shot.

Melissa - Oddly enough I think the last one is the best - more personality. Wish we had a road like that in Oklahoma.

kristie kulik - I have been [im]patiently waiting to see these---and you have not disappointed! LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I SO want to hop on a plane with my pups so we can stand on that road lol!

Dennis - These are all great Erin! But I think my personal favorite is the shot of Lacey solo on the road.

Steph - I think this is just brilliant! I love it! Erin, you rock.

nick - A very beautiful set :) The first one is my fav too. Leaning more to the coloured version :)
