A New Job?

I think if the dog market ever goes south I am going to be a “Kids at Weddings” photographer. I think kids pick up on the energy of the day and it makes them do all kinds of crazy things! I love it.

Here are a few from the wedding last weekend. Don’t they just make you smile?

She Had Me At Puppy

3 things caught my attention instantly.

1) I have a puppy (OMG)
2) I live in Madison Park (It is a completely adorable neighborhood in Seattle that I rarely get to visit)
3) I am an artist (well I found that one out by going to her exquisite website)

I had the most delightful time with them this week and I just had to post a small sneak peak for Mom because the photos are just too cute to keep to myself.

We’ll start with Simon, otherwise known as the ’social’ cat.

Eddie, otherwise known as the ‘cat who hid under the covers the entire time’ or ‘that lump on the bed’. We had to slowly pull the covers off to get a very quick shot at the end of the session.

Finally Augustus, the most adorable 4 month old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy that I have EVER had the pleasure of meeting. I walked in the door, sat down on the floor, and he crawled right into my lap and curled up. This is not doing anything to cure my horrible puppy fever!

Good Morning Gracie

Poor Gracie girl had a bug this week and woke us up every hour on Wednesday night to go outside. I am happy to report that she is now on the mend, and lucky for my husband, everything is solid again.

I rarely shoot in the morning but since I had to go outside and make sure Gracie was 100% better, I decided to bring my camera along. That actually sounds pretty wrong … I didn’t take THOSE kind of pictures. I was happy to see the sun rising and decided to do some shots of Gracie. She was patrolling for cats and squirrels, of course.

An itch!

Late July + Early August are Gracie’s favorite months because her favorite game is “annoy the bees in the lavendar.” The bees are safe as long as they are on a stem but as soon as they decide to venture off they are fair game. Here you can see both the wrinkles (my fave) and her famous flying lips.

She goes back and forth between the two bushes.

Here is a shot from her time with the bees last year.

Then she got all freaky on me and spotted something in between the 2 cushions. She wouldn’t stop with the nose so I just kept shooting.

She makes me laugh daily.

Dinner Time

As I lay face down on the floor of the kitchen of someone I just met, I thought to myself … “I have the coolest job ever.”

Documenting the Dinner Dance (at least that is what our dog crazy family calls it)
