Positivity

I think one of the hardest life lessons I have had to learn in the last 5 years is that not everyone will want to celebrate your success. I believe everyone is successful at something in their lives and it makes it even that much better when you have lovely people in your life to celebrate with.

I choose to surround myself with positive people that celebrate the success of others. In turn, I have learned to relish other’s success.

Being negative is easy. Being positive is a very conscious choice. A hard one.

I was feeling negative yesterday. Then I walked out to the mailbox and there was this adorable little package addressed to “The Vey Girls”.

Inside was an adorable card, a glittery sign that said “Laugh”, and the most delightful letter “G” bling for Gracie’s collar.

A friend across the country sent it. Just because. We have never met in person or even talked on the phone, but for some reason she felt compelled to send this to me.

And it totally made my day, week, month.

I have the laugh sign hanging right next to my monitor to remind me to pass on that gift of unexpected positivity.

And then I made Gracie fulfill her model responsibilities because when you live with me, that’s just how it is.

She was SO pissed off at me for this shot.

Erin, I just found your site (by way of my friend Holly’s blog) and I wanted to let you know how much I’m enjoying it already. I’m going to have to go poke around in your old blog now to see what came before.

Thats so true!! It takes so much effort to see the positive in people when all they do is live their life negatively. But surrounding yourself with positive people not only helps you but it affects others in positive ways also. Love the pictures. :) Hope Gracie and you are doing well. Take care!!

  4. This post made me laugh heartily and repeatedly, LOL! It never ceases to amaze me how our dogs can fixate and obsess about the most banal of things … we gotta love them for their love and innocence though, eh?

  5. This is such a great series to post! Gracie looks singularly unimpressed with her new bling, but I’m sure she’ll come to love it (or at least ignore it). She’s a beautiful dog and the age frosting makes her look especially wise and loving. My Queen Pepa is 14 now and greying fast but she’s still her vibrant self …
