I think I mentioned earlier that I would be doing some portfolio shooting over the next few weeks. Here are some highlights from a shoot that took place this weekend.
Baby is a bulldog and I just love her. She was the perfect model for this shoot.
I have had this shoot in my head for a long time now and I finally got the chance to get it out of my head and onto my camera.
I’m totally thrilled with these shots.
I’d love to know your thoughts, reactions, or general opinion on the set.

I totally adore this entire series!
Stunning! Everyone of them!
Really love the second to last image. So stoic, So dignified.
I LOVE the 1st shot! What a fun shoot! Also love the uniqueness where Baby is looking back at her!
I love both black dress shots posted here, as well as the 4th from the bottom… it’s endearing how Baby is looking back at her person. :)
(I REALLY love the b&w version of the black dress one you posted on flickr.)
Erin, I don’t think there is any one aspect of these photos that makes them so compelling, it’s their completeness. EVERYTHING about them just stops my heart! And Baby couldn’t be ANY more perfect, her expressions, body language, everything…PERFECTION!
Very nice composition and well executed idea. I work with stock agencies in my day job and I can see these images selling well in the commercial/advertising world.
Awesome work! My fav is without a doubt the one where they are cheek to cheek and both have their eyes closed. Love both expressions. Pure bliss & unconditional love! My second pick would be the one of Baby kissing (licking) her nose. Perfect timing!
We are all entitled to our own opinions and I welcome them. But I’m not sure why it is strange. I’ve seen just as many dogs walking down a road as I have people.
I like the shots but I think having a dog in the road is kind of strange. I know that portrait photogs love to do this sort of thing but it just doesn’t have the same effect with an animal.
your right :) the bright color of the dress and striking white of the dog are just incredible, esp in #10.
I love the wrinkly dress. I always strive to add a touch of reality to my shots and it is virtually impossible to wear a dress throughout the day and keep it unwrinkled.
These are absolutely gorgeous!! The ones in the black dress are my favorite. The only thing that bugs me is the wrinkly dress and that is really only noticeable on 1 or 2 shots. That is one beautiful bulldog!
hey erin!… these are all wonderful… makes me want to do this with my own dogs!!… the first is my favorite but i really love them all!
these are so amazing erin. probably some of my favorites. ever.
Hi Erin! I saw your blog via Flickr and had to come check these out! She is so adorable & sophisticated–I think this collection turned out very elegant, that any dog lover is sure to enjoy. Wonderfully done!

Hi Erin, these are fantastic! Awesome job! I love how Baby sits back on bum like a person. :) Great color and DOF! Love the one where they are hugging and Baby has her eyes closed.
This series tickles me senseless. And this is the post that brings me out of the shadows. Hands down - favorite post ever. This is why I continue to come back over and over again: For the inspiration, the laugh out loud moments that only a spot-on, fabulous dog portrait can solicit - and the tickles. Your images are bursting with humor, quirk and pure, unabashed love for dogs. Thank you, Erin!
Hi Erin,
I love the ones in the black dress!!
